YOUR QUESTIONS, ANSWERED.

Everything You Want to
Know Before You Apply

We’ve answered the most common questions from prospective franchise owners below. Still have something on your mind? We’d love to talk.

GETTING STARTED

Do I need experience in cleaning to become a franchisee?

No prior cleaning experience is required. What matters most is your drive, your people skills, and your commitment to following our proven systems. We provide comprehensive training that covers every service, quality standard, and operational process — so you’ll be fully equipped before you serve your first customer. Many of our most successful owners came from completely different industries.

It’s a simple five-step process: (1) Submit your request for information form. (2) Join a 30-minute discovery call with our franchise team. (3) Receive and review the Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD). (4) Complete our qualification process including a financial review. (5) Sign your franchise agreement and begin onboarding. The entire process typically takes 4–8 weeks.

Most franchise owners are open and serving customers within 60–90 days of signing their franchise agreement. This includes completing training, setting up your equipment, launching your marketing, and finalizing your vehicle wrap. We work with you to hit your target launch date and support a strong opening.

Yes — and many of our owners have that as their goal. We encourage a growth mindset. Once you’ve established a strong foundation in your first territory, we actively support expansion into additional markets. Multi-territory operators benefit from shared infrastructure and deeper brand presence in their region.

INVESTMENT & FEES

What is the total investment to become a Coconut Cleaning franchisee?

The total estimated initial investment ranges from $70,000 to $105,000, which includes the franchise fee, equipment, vehicle wrap, marketing launch budget, and working capital. Full details are provided in our Franchise Disclosure Document. We recommend visiting our Investment page for a full itemized breakdown.

We require a minimum net worth of $100,000 and at least $30,000 in liquid capital. These thresholds exist to ensure you can operate confidently during your ramp-up period without financial stress. Strong credit history and financial stability are also considered during qualification.

Yes. Ongoing fees include a 6% royalty fee on gross revenue, a 2% brand/marketing fund contribution, and a $150/month technology fee for our proprietary booking and CRM platform. These fees fund continued brand development, national marketing, and technology improvements that benefit every franchisee in the network.

Coconut Cleaning is SBA-eligible, meaning many candidates can access SBA 7(a) loans to finance a significant portion of their startup costs. Equipment financing, ROBS (using retirement funds without penalty), and personal investors are also common options. We can connect you with vetted financing advisors during the application process.

No — and any franchisor who does guarantee income should raise a red flag. What we can do is share real performance data from existing franchise locations (as disclosed in our FDD), walk you through the unit economics, and connect you directly with current franchise owners who can share their honest experience. Your income will be directly tied to your effort, your market, and how well you execute our systems.

TRAINING & SUPPORT

What does the training program include?

Our onboarding training is comprehensive — covering every cleaning service, equipment operation, quality standards, pricing, customer communication, team hiring, software, and marketing execution. Training includes a combination of in-person, hands-on sessions and virtual modules. You’ll also shadow an active franchisee location to see real operations firsthand before you launch.

You’ll have a dedicated franchise advisor who knows your market and checks in regularly. Beyond that, you’ll receive access to ongoing marketing support, software updates, new service training, a peer network of fellow owners, and quarterly business reviews. We’re not a hands-off franchisor — we’re genuinely invested in your success at every stage.

Many owners start by working in the business themselves, which we encourage — it builds an understanding of the craft and creates authentic customer relationships. The long-term model, however, is owner-operated: you hire and manage a team of trained technicians while you focus on growth, marketing, and customer experience. We’ll guide you on when and how to scale your team.

DAY-TO-DAY OPERATIONS

What services does a Coconut Cleaning franchise offer?

Franchisees offer a full suite of premium home cleaning services including carpet cleaning, tile and grout cleaning, upholstery cleaning, air duct cleaning, and area rug cleaning. The multi-service model means higher ticket values per visit and more reasons for customers to return. You’ll also have access to the Coconut Club membership program, which drives recurring bookings.

We handle the heavy lifting on lead generation. Your launch includes targeted paid digital advertising, Google Business profile optimization, local SEO, and social media setup. Ongoing marketing support continues after launch through the brand fund. In addition to digital marketing, many owners grow significantly through referrals, door-to-door outreach, and community partnerships — all of which we provide playbooks for.

We provide a proprietary booking and CRM platform that manages your full schedule, customer profiles, follow-up automation, online reviews, invoicing, and business reporting — all in one place. It’s intuitive, mobile-friendly, and built specifically for home service businesses. The tech fee of $150/month covers access and ongoing updates.

TERRITORY & GROWTH

How are territories defined and protected?

Your territory is legally defined in your franchise agreement by geographic boundaries — typically based on zip codes or county lines to ensure meaningful market size. It is fully protected: no other Coconut Cleaning franchisee can operate, solicit, or advertise within your territory. Territory maps are developed in collaboration with our team and your input on local market knowledge.

We’re currently expanding across the United States with availability in most major and mid-size markets. Some territories in existing markets (Phoenix, Dallas, Austin, Houston, Kansas City, Minneapolis, Orange County, Salt Lake City) may have limited availability. To check availability in your target market, submit a request for information and we’ll confirm what’s open within 24 hours.

Yes. Your franchise is a business asset you own, and you retain the right to sell it — subject to the transfer provisions in your franchise agreement. A well-run Coconut Cleaning franchise builds real equity value over time. We assist in the transfer process and require that the buyer meet our standard qualification criteria. Many franchise owners see this as part of their long-term wealth-building strategy.
